A. Unique Workshops
Our professors train your people at your facility in a classroom environment; and later, in their work areas where they begin to use their
skills. After returning to the classroom once again, they discuss what they accomplished and ask questions to gain new insight. They
repeat the cycle of lecture and application and analyze it until they are confident in themselves. Lastly, they take a test about what they
learned. Employees will gain excellent feedback on comprehension skills. The time period can be a week or a month, depending on the
client’s needs. No other training group that we know of goes into this much detail during the learning process as Knight’s Business
Training Institute does.
1) We offer a six-hour seminar training session Saturdays with two of our professors working as a team addressing key problems at
your facility (which you’ve identified), breaking your people into teams to address their particular expertise. Teams will meet during the
week and report on their status to management the following Saturday.
During the first three hours of this review, they will make their presentation and suggestions. In the next three hours management and
the team will agree on what action will be taken. This can be a powerful team approach that can quickly address the action plan to be
used that, while not necessarily an immediate solution, can be a road map leading to an agreed upon solution in a timely manner.
2) Our professors (normally two) can work directly with the President or CEO’s staff as a team to address a problem or opportunity that
the President or CEO wants to address confidentially. This could be an internal business problem, acquisition, consolidation of plants,
etc.
We will not only have two of our professors who have a wealth of experience to address any problem or opportunity, but we can also
draw from our other professors any special inputs that might be needed on a particular specialty that they possess. (Our purpose is to
provide professional expertise to any study, break up into teams with client’s people to research to develop a game plan and make
recommendations to the CEO and President that can be implemented quickly.
B. General Management
We can train or assist your general management with the following:

C. Human Resources
1) Help clients team introduce pull-systems of manufacturing
2) How to reduce inventories by 50% and still give customers 99% delivery accuracy using specially designed Kanbans
3) Coach the introduction of a unique incentive health care system that will help control the escalating cost and improve the quality of
life of employees.
4) Train employees on latest technology in software for control of material systems
5) Train purchasing people on latest techniques in global purchasing
6) Train people on material storage and flow of inventory that eliminates lost inventory and assembly shortages
D. Materials Area
1) Coach management on how to make effective use of retirees part time to use their vast experience and the good work ethic to hold
down overall cost.
2) Assist in training or active participation on union contracts that reflect the reality of the marketplace and the need for survival
3) Coach the introduction of a unique health care system that will help control the escalating cost and improve the quality of life of
employees
4) Assist human resources in training employees on the 5 "S's" (Toyota system and safety requirements)
E. Quality
1) Coach and train people on the fundamentals of quality
2) Train employees on newest requirements of ISO standards.
3) Teach statistical process control
4) Teach Root Cause analysis
5) Unique quality program that has the parts checked at suppliers before they are shipped, eliminating receiving inspection

Before you leave, let me fill in some points you need to know...
1) You may recall that I said that we believe in the basics. One of the basics is our need to test our students to see if they have learned
and understood what we taught them. We want to work with our students to make sure that they implement what they have learned into
their own jobs and workplace. We want to evaluate them to know who is performing well and who needs tutoring. It is also an excellent
way for employers to find high potential management people within their own company. We issue a completion certificate to those who
pass the test.
Lastly, there is a graduation ceremony with a presentation of their earned certificates. The students take pride in this and management
should attend. The families of the graduates are often invited. It is a time of celebration!
2) If we work together, we can help you develop and receive grants to pay for some or all of your cost with local, state
and federal funds. Again we will not charge you for our time.
We try to be as generous as we can to help our clients control the cost for training. Our teaching institutions have done a poor job in
educating the industry about the importance of training. I think human resources departments need to be given more authority
and money to implement training needs.
The human resources area can be a huge profit generator. We need to show the savings and waste to management and
become a accepted contributor to the team’s financial success and total team culture to be a winning team.
It is a fact that, when your management buys a new machine and puts it into production, the machine will perform well, but it will never
work as well as its first days again. It begins to wear with use.
When you invest in your people, they are not only more productive, but as you open the door of knowledge they continue
to grow and grow. Training your people is the best investment you can make as a management team!
